The middleware XRB/WebServices^® is the central communication component for coupling heterogeneous system environments and is used both to integrate mobile solutions into your system environment as well as for general data exchange in B2B scenarios.

The e-switch solution platform is based on a reliable, modular and open technology/architecture, offering the maximum investment protection.

Based on the latest SOA technology (Service-Oriented Architecture) XRB/WebServices^® allows an open data exchange via XML/XSLT and SOAP.

For all common types of communication e-switch allocates so-called “listeners” to transform the incoming data in the required format. The middleware will then routing to the desired internal or external service. A service can consist of one or more components and are assembled according to any transaction.

For example, in your business, the human resources department is located on an Oracle database, logistics on the SAP and an external provider is used for route calculating.

As a medium for data transfer are all the current technologies available such as:

e-switch offers with the software component XRB for XI the possibility to implement powerful mobile solutions linked to your SAP ERP system based on SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI). In opposite to the mobile scenarios of the SAP NetWeaver Mobile e-switch does not need an additional middleware but facilitates XI, SAP’s strategic NetWeaver platform.

XRB for XI

Mobile solutions need regarding performance advanced requirements to transport data efficiently. The component XRB for XI makes sure that the XI data exchange formats are conform with the requirements of the mobile solution. In addition to that our software component allows the integration of adapters which are not included in the standard XI delivery (i.e. send and receive SMS or linkage to ticket or scheduling systems).

Exchange Infrastructure tools

If you are already experienced with the implementation of integration processes using SAP XI, business projects can be "mobilized" without any major efforts. .
Use the tools of XI and create the integration repository as usual. After the XI messaging structures as well as the mapping are defined, configure the communication adapters in the integration dictionary.

Performance

The following table shows the duration of different queries of a typical mobile solution for both middleware configurations.
For both test cycles identical configured servers were used and the proposed tuning configurations were adapted.

XRB/WebServices^® is an integral part of the overall solution Mobile Productivity Solutions^® and combines the solutions mCompanion^® (Mobile Fieldservice) and the Visual Planning Board^® (for dispatching) with the respective central ERP-System such as SAP, ORACLE, Remedy and others.
